Bordering St Peter Port, Forest and St Andrew's, the parish of St Martin's lies to the southeast of the island of Guernsey. There is also a separated part of the parish to the North West.
St Martins is the second highest parish in Guernsey, is on the coast and has steep cliffs and many beautiful bays. Jerbourg Point in St Martins is the most southerly part of the island. There are six lovely beaches - Saint's Bay, Moulin Huet, Petit Port, Marble Bay and part of Fermain Bay and Petit Bot Bay.
Standing at the entrance to St Martin's church is the magnificent 'Gran' Mere du Chimquiere', an ancient Neolithic female fertility statue carved into the shape of a woman dating back to around 4000 years ago.
Sausmarez Manor
Sausmarez Manor that has parts that date back to late 12th centuries and it is an impressive manor house. It is regarded as the finest house in Guernsey and has been home to the de Sausmarez family since the 13th century. There are many attractions and events held at the Manor, such as house tours, ghost tours, art exhibitions, golf and concerts. Something for everyone - and well worth a look if you're staying in St Martins.
