Walking in Guernsey

The 28.5 miles of spectacular cliff top paths, numerous bays, rural lanes and heath land mean Guernsey is a walker's paradise and is an ideal place for a walking holiday. Walking is arguably the best way explore the island fully and to discover sights off the beaten track. Various walking literature is available from the Guernsey Information Centre to provide you with useful tips and recommended walks.

Roam the picturesque heath land and rural lanes where you'll see rare, semi-tropical species of plants growing in the wild and an abundance of wildlife.

Wander through the towns and villages and explore the ancient history and admire the quirky ways, there's no better way of getting a feel for a place than on foot. Walk the streets of our capital, St Peter Port, and discover how the picturesque town became what it is today.

There is an extensive programme of walks led by accredited guides that take place from April to September in Guernsey, and these provide a great opportunity to learn more about the island and experiences sights you might otherwise miss.
