Restaurant
The OGH provides the most sumptuous dishes in the most convivial of surroundings
and this quality is reflected in the award of two AA Rosettes and a Gold Award by
VisitGuernsey. There are two distinctive restaurants - the intimate Governor's fine-dining
restaurant or the more informal French style OGH Brasserie, both treating guests
to world-class dining. The French Chef prepares each dish using the freshest of
local and Continental ingredients and both restaurants are popular with hotel guests
and Islanders alike.
The French style Brasserie offers guests an informal style of food and service offering
breakfast, lunch and dinner throughout the year. When the weather is fine food and
wine can be served "al fresco" in the garden with views over the harbour and dining
by the pool with food from the griddle throughout the summer season. The OGH Brasserie
also offers pre and post-theatre suppers for near-by St James.
The Governor's fine-dine restaurant is regarded as the finest on the Island and
enjoyed by both the finance community and discerning locals alike. Decorated in
a bohemian style, this historic restaurant features pictures and memorabilia of
Island governors and can be hired as a private dining room.
French Chef de Cuisine, Jerome Barbançon, has designed a seasonal menu reflecting
the success of many classical French dishes. The food is complimented by a small
but select traditional wine list featuring wines from some of the best regional
growers in France, to dine in Governor's really is a dynamic and memorable experience.
