At first I was a little put out as there were no lights on and it was dusk, but I needn't have worried. The staff were very friendly. The room cosy and plenty of hot water. Breakfast fine. Overall great value for money

Maggie made our hoilday! When we arrived we were really disapointed with the room it was like going back into the 70's with different patched carpet, including an iron burn. Single headboard for a double bed, MFI type wardrobes. To my horror there was a hand basin in the bedroom. We knew we had en-suite as there was a sign on an adjoining door that was clearly marked 'SHOWER' I am not massive but do carry a few extra pounds, so I had to stand astride the toilet in order to close the door. The window in the en-suite was stuck open. I think the room could really do with a little TLC. We did do our research before booking and to be honest it was not the cheapest nor the dearest but it offered free car hire. As the weekend was a birthday treat from my husband and he was feeling pretty bad we decided to make the best of it. Saturday evening we went to the bar it opens from 6pm to 7pm and met Maggie who works there who was the most wonderful kind person I have met in a long time, she sorted us out somewhere nice to eat (we hadnt booked) and also a Taxi. She even sent up a card and a bottle of wine for my birthday. The breakfast was 10/10 the staff were also 10/10 Maggie was 20/10 the room left alot to the imagination I think it was overpriced for the decor but lovely people. We enjoyed our stay.

For value for money on my short stay it was fine. Near to bus route which is beneficial due to the long walk up hill from town. Satisfactory cooked breakfast with good choice.
