L'Ancresse Bay in Guernsey
L'Ancresse Bay is a wide and flat beach which is one of the biggest bays on the
island. With deep sand, the water is perfect for windsurfing, surfing, sailing,
sea kayaking and even fishing if you wish.

Vazon Bay in Guernsey
Perhaps one of the most scenic and largest bays on Guernsey, Vazon Bay is home to
an award-winning Blue Flag beach, which stretches for around 3 km 2 miles and features
good facilities.

May 2009 - Liberation Day
Liberation Day, Guernsey 2009 - May: Liberation Day Commemorates the day
Guernsey was liberated from German Occupation during the Second World War. Guernsey
celebrates with a Bank Holiday that is packed with fun events for all the family.
The hub of the activities is at the piers of St Peter Port and there are plenty
of attractions for young and old alike including historical exhibitions, open-air
concerts, street entertainers, buskers and live theatre.
July 2009 - Le Viaer Marchi
Le Viaer Marchi - early July: Organised by the National Trust of Guernsey
with traditional crafts, dancing, language, costume, food and drink and lots of
fun. Le Viaer Marchi is a hugely popular event with both locals and visitors and
takes place in the beautiful Saumarez Park.
July 2009 - National Hill Climb, Guernsey 2009
National Hill Climb, Guernsey 2009 - July: The Jersey Motor Cycle and Light
Car Club (JM & LCC) have been organising Hill Climbs at Bouley Bay since 1947
and as this is a National hillclimb you can expect a number of UK entries to travel
to the island looking to pick up championship points. An afternoon not to be missed
and a must for all motor sport fans.

August 2009 - Guernsey Harbour Carnival 2009
Guernsey Harbour Carnival 2009 - early August: Based at St. Peter Port harbour,
with fun events, such as a Dinghy Race and Tug of War.

September 2009
- UIM Offshore Powerboat World Championships - early September: Exciting speedboat
races between Guernsey and Sark.

- Alderney Half Marathon - early September: Popular road race on Alderney.
- International Air Rally - early September: Held at the Guernsey Aero Club.
